Pam took a pause in pursuing photography to raise her two children. She has since gotten back into film photography, breaking out the 35mm and medium format cameras in order to slow down the process and focus more on what she is seeing. She has recently added a 4x5 camera and is looking forward to learning photography in a larger format. While she still uses digital format, you will find a blend of both mediums in her work.

Pamela Powell is a fine art photographer in Fort Worth Texas. She currently manages The Print Refinery at Fort Worth Camera, a photography print lab, as well as the in-house gallery curator. She holds a BFA in art-photography from Sam Houston State University. As one who always begged for the camera, it was inherent that Pam would choose the path of photography as a way of expressing herself and sharing her vision/perspective of the world. She also leads the Fort Worth Film Photographers, a group that is focused on those who want to shoot more analog - film.

Pam spends her free time seeking inspiration in the quiet of the natural world. You will find her wandering in the forest, along river beds, and other natural settings. She seeks out scenes that reveal nature as calming, peaceful, a place to come and find escape from our busy world. Her hope is to communicate the restorative qualities of the natural world, inviting viewers into moments of pause and presence.
